General description
Anti-Monkeypox virus/MPXV M1R Antibody, clone SAA0283, is a recombinant monoclonal antibody composed of two heavy chains and two light chains. It is a type of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody, which is the most common type of antibody found in the blood and other bodily fluids of humans and other mammals.
Monkeypox virus (MPXV), like smallpox virus, belongs to the genus Orthopoxvirus. Its morphology is consistent with that of orthopoxvirus, with a brick-shaped or oval shape with rounded corners and a size of 200~400nm. Brick-shaped or oval-shaped, covered by a lipoprotein membrane or envelope, with two protein-containing side bodies in the middle, and a thick membrane core containing a large double-stranded DNA gene body. The genome of Mpox virus is a double-stranded DNA, about 197kb long, and the end of the genome contains an identical but opposite terminal inverted repeat sequence. The virus contains 190 open reading frames, 4 of which are located in terminal inverted repeats. The core proteins of monkeypox virus are A29L, A35R, B6R, M1R, H3L.

Specificity
Monoclonal Anti-Monkeypox virus/MPXV M1R Antibody, clone SAA0283 is specific to the monkeypox virus and binds to its surface proteins. This binding blocks the virus from entering cells and prevents it from replicating, thus preventing infection.
