Description générale

L-Ascorbic acid is the primary dietary source of vitamin C.It is mainly used in the prevention of scurvy.In animals, it is produced by the reduction of dehydroascorbic acid.[1]
This certified reference material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034. This CRM is traceable to primary material from an NMI, e.g. NIST or NMIJ.

This substance is listed on the positive list of the EU regulation 10/2011 for plastics intended to come into contact with food.

Application

L-Ascorbic acid may be used a certified reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in fruits and vegetables using high-performance liquid chromatography technique.[2]
