General description

Tungsten disulfide suspension (WS2) (5 mg/mL in water) is a two dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) material with a hexagonal configuration. It is a graphene like material that has a honeycomb network. Its properties include high flexibility, and moderate mobility of charge carriers.[1][2]

Application

Owing to the thickness dependent physical and chemical properties, the transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) based two dimensional (2D) nanomaterials have drawn significant attention recently.[3][4][5][6] The atomically thin layers of MoS2 and WS2 represent important class of TMD based 2D-material and they find applications in photocatalysis, phtotovoltaics, gas sensing, lithium ion batteries, field effect transistors, spintronics etc.
WS2 suspensions can be used in a variety of applications such as fabrication of humidity sensors, and lithium ion batteries, and as a catalyst for water decomposition.[2][7][8]
