LSGM is an electrolyte material for intermediate temperature (below 800^oC ) solid oxide fuel cells (IT-SOFC). LaGaO₃ based pervoskite; doped with strontium and magnesium (LSGM) is known to exhibit high oxide ionic conductivity, on account of the high concentration and mobility of oxygen vacancies[1][2] LSGM-8282 can be synthesized by solid state reaction between La₂O₃, MgO, SrCo₃ and Ga₂O at temperatures > 1000^oC.[2] Other known methods of producing LSGM are combustion synthesis, coprecipitation route, Pechini method for powder. Pechini method is popularly used in producing LSGM for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs).[3]
