Immunogen
synthetic phosphopeptide derived from the region of EGFR that contains tyrosine 1086.
Biochem/physiol Actions
EGFR is a transmembrane glycoprotein that binds to the EGF family. It is a pivotal regulator of cell proliferation, growth, differentiation and DNA repair after radiation-induced damage. Mutations in the gene encoding EGFR are associated with a number of malignancies including lung cancer and colorectal cancer. Tyr1086 is a minor autophosphorylation site and enables the internalization of the receptor.
Physical form
Solution in Dulbecco′s phosphate buffered saline without Mg2+ and Ca2+, pH 7.3 with 50% glycerol, 1 mg/mL BSA (protease and IgG free) and 0.05% sodium azide.
