General description

Glutathione peroxidase (GPX) represents an enzyme family with peroxidase activity whose main biological role is to protect the organism from oxidative damage. It helps prevent lipid peroxidation of cellular membranes by removing free peroxide in the cell.

Application

The Glutathione Peroxidase Assay Kit may be used for:
  • Cancer Research
  • Diabetes Research
  • Oxidative Stress Research

Features and Benefits

Enhanced Detection Range: Detect GPx activity accurately across a wide range, from 40 to 800 U/L, using only 10 μL of sample in a 96-well plate setup, ensuring comprehensive analysis with minimal sample requirement.

Compatibility with High-Throughput Systems: Easily incorporate our kit into high-throughput handling systems, ensuring smooth and accurate processing, enhancing efficiency in your laboratory workflow.

Suitability

The kit is suitable for the quantitative determination of glutathione peroxidase activity and evaluation of drug effects on GPX activity in biological samples.

Principle

The Glutathione Peroxidase Assay Kit directly measures NADPH consumption in the enzyme coupled reactions. The measured decrease in optical density at 340 nm (A340) is directly proportional to the enzyme activity in the sample.
