General description

Span® 80 is a nonionic surfactant. [1]

Application

Span® 80 has been used in a study to assess transfersomes as a transdermal delivery system for sertraline. [2] It has also been used in a study to investigate the dominant factors affecting the stability of nanoemulsions through the use of artificial neural networks (ANNs). [3]

Other Notes

Fatty acid composition: Oleic acid (C18:1) ≤ 60%; balance primarily linoleic (C18:2), linolenic (C18:3) and palmitic (C16:0) acids.
