General description
A benzylidene lactam compound that blocks the induction of heat shock proteins HSP70, HSP72, and HSP105. Blocks the development of thermotolerance in a dose-dependent manner. Does not affect the thermosensitivity of nontolerant cells. Reported to be less toxic and more effective than Quercetin (Cat. No. 551600); and unlike Quercetin, it does not have an affect on the activities of PKA, PKC, or PTK.
