n-octane is a hydrocarbon compound used as a solvent, cleaning agent, fuel additive, or reaction agents.

Application

n-Octane is used as:
  • A oil phase in the preparation of zinc carbonate particles by reverse microemulsion technique.
  • As a diluents in the solvent extraction of REEs(rare-earth elements) with extracting agent D2EHPA [di-(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid].
