Description générale

Hemin- Vitamin K1 readymade solution is used as a culture medium enrichment for fastidious anaerobic microorganisms.1,2 Hemin-Vitamin K1 is a key ingredient compound that is part of anaerobic media such as brucella broth, thioglycolate broth, reinforced clostridial medium, cooked meat broth, peptone yeast extract medium, fastidious anaerobe agar etc.[1] Hemin helps to regulate the expression of numerous virulence factors and extracellular vesicle formations in Porphyromonas sp. 3,4. Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) is produced by plants, it is used as a redox cofactor in plants and cyanobacteria. Vitamin K1 is converted into vitamin K2 in the gut by intestinal microbiota.[2] Hemin and Vitamin K1have been shown to enhance the growth of many anaerobes including Bacteroides species and certain gram-positive non-spore formers organisms.

Application

Hemin- Vitamin K1 readymade solution is suitable to use as a media supplement for anaerobic bacterial culture .
