Description

General description

2-Methoxyfuran forms cycloadducts with maleic anhydride and N-methylmaleimide. It undergoes Friedel-Crafts reaction with nitroalkenes catalyzed by diphenylamine-tethered bis(oxazoline)-Zn(OTf)₂ complexes.

Application

2-Methoxyfuran was used to study the hydrolysis of furan derivative by acid catalysis.
