Application

Macro porous silicon is useful for applications requiring mechanical and chemical stability with high order of the pores. Our macro porous silicon membranes are manufactured from single crystal n-doped silicon wafers and possess pore diameter between 1 to 8 μm. The standard deviation of pore diameter and interpore distance for these porous silicon membrane materials is less than 5 %. These macro porous silicon finds applications in filtration, as platforms for multi-functional flow-through sensors, as fuels cells electrodes or micro reactors etc. They can also be used as templates for the fabrication of micro scale composites, such as tubes or wires by electrochemical deposition or by using polymer melts. We suggest using vacuum tweezers on the front side or polymer tweezers on the side faces.
