General description

Glacial acetic acid is commonly used as an eluent additive in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and thin-layer chromatography (TLC).

Application

Acetic acid glacial can be used as:
  • Elution solvent in the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the quantification of trans, trans-muconicacid in human urine.
  • Mobile phase component in an isocratic HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) procedure to facilitate the separation and analysis of Glycyrrhiz in and its aglycone, 18β-glycyrrhetic acid.
