Chromoionophore IV (5-Octadecanoyloxy-2-(4-nitrophenylazo)phenol, ETH 2412) is a lipophilic pH indicator and is generally used during the fabrication of optical sensors.[1][2]

ETH 2412 may be used for the optode membrane preparation, for determination of perchlorate spectrophotometrically.[3]
