Application

Palladium on activated charcoal can be used as a heterogeneous catalyst:
  • To synthesize methyl esters via oxidative esterification of primary alcohols.[1]
  • In the hydrogenation of phenol to cyclohexanone.[2]
  • For carbonylation of iodoanilines with amines and trimethyl orthoformate to prepare quinazolinones.[3]
  • In the hydrodehalogenation of aromatic halides to form arenes in aqueous media.[4]
