Gene Information

human ... HLA-DRB3(3125)

General description

HLA class II histocompatibility antigen, DR beta 3 chain (UniProt: P79483; also known as MHC class II antigen DRB3) is encoded by the HLA-DRB3 gene (Gene ID: 3125) in human. DRB3 is a single-pass type I membrane protein; that is synthesized with a signal peptide of 29 amino acids that is subsequently cleaved to generate a mature form. It also contains an Ig0like C1 type domain (aa 126-214). It is a heterodimer of an alpha and a beta subunit; also referred as MHC class II molecule. To produce a MHC class II molecule that presents an antigen, three MHC class II molecules (heterodimers of an alpha and a beta chain) associate with a CD74 trimer in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to form a heterononamer. The MHC class II complex transits through a number of intracellular compartments in the endocytic pathway until it reaches the cell membrane for antigen presentation. DRB3 binds peptides derived from antigens that access the endocytic route of antigen presenting cells (APC) and presents them on the cell surface for recognition by the CD4 T-cells.

Specificity

This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects HLA class II histocompatibility antigen, DR beta 3 chain in human cells. It targets an epitope within 15 amino acids from the N-terminal half.

Immunogen

Epitope: N-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to 15 amino acids from the N-terminal half of human HLA class II histocompatibility antigen, DR beta 3 chain (HLA-DRB3).

Application

Flow Cytometry Analysis: 1 µg from a representative lot detected HLA-DRB3 in one million Raji cells.
