MicroRNAs (miRNAs) comprise species of short noncoding RNA that regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally. Recent studies have demonstrated that epigenetic mechanisms, including DNA methylation and histone modification, not only regulate the expression of protein-encoding genes, but also miRNAs, such as let-7a

The RAD51 protein is a central player in homologous recombinational repair. The RAD51B protein is one of five RAD51 paralogs that function in the homologous recombinational repair pathway in higher eukaryotes. In the present study, we found that the human

Lamellipodial protrusion is regulated by Ena/VASP proteins. We identified Lamellipodin (Lpd) as an Ena/VASP binding protein. Both proteins colocalize at the tips of lamellipodia and filopodia. Lpd is recruited to EPEC and Vaccinia, pathogens that exploit the actin cytoskeleton for

EVL belongs to the Ena/VASP (Enabled/vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein) family of proteins [Mena (mammalian Ena), VASP and EVL], which have a range of roles in regulating the actin cytoskeleton. Growing evidence suggests that Mena and VASP are involved in carcinogenesis, though little

MENA, VASP and EVL are members of the ENA/VASP family of proteins and are involved in cytoplasmic actin remodeling. Previously, we found that EVL directly interacts with RAD51, an essential protein in the homologous recombinational repair of double-strand breaks (DSBs)
