General description
Albumin from porcine serum (PSA) contains two tryptophan residues and amino Terminal Cu(II)- and Ni(II)-binding (ATCUN) motif with histidine-3 substituted by tyrosine-3 compared to human serum albumin.
Application
Albumin from porcine serum has been used in binding studies with:
- Oxovanadium(IV)-O2+ complexes using circular dichroism (CD) and electron paramagnetic resonance studies
- magnetic resonance imaging contrast agents, B229563 and MS-325 anion
- ovine pregnancy-associated glycoprotein(PAG) radioimmunoassay (RIA) validation assay
Biochem/physiol Actions
Albumin from porcine serum (PSA) possesses foaming property and is an emulsifier. It is classified as an allergen and used in the preparation of molecularly imprinted nanogels for PSA detection on meat.
