Gene Information

human ... SPRED2(200734)

General description

SPRED2 is a member of the Sprouty (see SPRY1; MIM 602465)/SPRED family of proteins that regulate growth factor-induced activation of the MAP kinase cascade (see MAPK1; MIM 176948) (Nonami et al., 2004 [PubMed 15465815]).[supplied by OMIM

Immunogen

SPRED2 (NP_861449, 120 a.a. ~ 219 a.a) partial recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Sprouty related EVH1 domain containing 2 (SPRED2) modulates erythroid differentiation in chronic myelogenous leukemia cells. It functions as a negative regulator of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway and hematopoiesis in the aorta-gonad-mesonephros region. SPRED2 is downregulated in prostate cancer.

Solution in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4

To identify new genetic risk factors for rheumatoid arthritis, we conducted a genome-wide association study meta-analysis of 5,539 autoantibody-positive individuals with rheumatoid arthritis (cases) and 20,169 controls of European descent, followed by replication in an independent set of 6,768 rheumatoid

SPRED1 and 2 are key negative regulators of MAPK signalling in mammalian cells. Here, we investigate the expression and functional role of SPREDs in prostate cancer. A transcriptome bank of microdissected grade-specific primary cancers was constructed and interrogated for transcript

Spred proteins modulate growth factor receptor signaling by inhibiting the Ras-MAPK cascade. Here, we show that Spred-1, Spred-2, and Spred-3 are ubiquitinated in HEK293T cells stimulated with epidermal growth factor (EGF) or pervanadate. Spred-2 tyrosines Y228 and/or Y231 in the
