Ethyl trimethylacetate undergoes condensation with acetophenone catalyzed by phosphazene base to yield β-trimethylsilyloxy ester. NCI(F⁻) and NCI(NH₂⁻) mass spectra of a series of ethyl trimethylacetates have been studied.
